About Our Veterinary Hospital

Since the early 1950’s, Bay City Veterinary Clinic and Equine Hospital has been far more than a veterinary practice, it has been a trusted part of the Bay City community and the Matagorda County ranching way of life.

Founded when Bay City was still a small agricultural town of fewer than 10,000 people, the clinic has cared for generations of family pets, horses, and livestock with the same values that built its reputation from the beginning: compassion, integrity, hard work, and dependability.

In a world where many hometown practices have disappeared, Bay City Veterinary Clinic and Equine Hospital has continued to blend modern veterinary medicine with the personal relationships and service that only a true community practice can provide. Families who once brought animals here decades ago now trust the clinic with the care of their children’s and grandchildren’s pets and horses.

The clinic’s impact reaches far beyond medicine. Over the years, hundreds of thousands of dollars have been donated back to local youth programs, agricultural education, charitable organizations, scholarships, and community causes. From supporting 4-H and FFA students to helping local nonprofits and civic events, giving back has always been a part of the clinic’s mission.
Most importantly, the clinic has built a reputation for always answering the call when animals needed help most. Through emergencies, late nights, weekends, and difficult moments, generations of families have known they could depend on Bay City Veterinary Clinic and Equine Hospital to be there when it mattered.

Few veterinary practices achieve this kind of longevity. Even fewer remain so deeply rooted in the people and community they serve.

After 76 years, Bay City Veterinary Clinic and Equine Hospital is not simply a business-it is a Matagorda County institution built on trust, service, and heart.
